1. Tealive

If you exclude all the other bubble milk tea in night markets with blueberry flavours, and strawberry flavours, then you will have Tealive, the original gangster who has revolutionised the bubble milk tea industry in Malaysia. Well, it was first known as Chatime before it parted ways. Since then, their menu went through a breakthrough and they have been introducing extraordinary new drinks, and new ways to drink it. Did you know that they have antioxidants, collagen, energy, and protein to be added to your favourite bubble milk tea? That’s insane! Go for their bestselling Milk Tea series, or try out their very new Pulp Star series, comprising of Grapefruit, and Orange.

2. Gong Cha

Right after Tealive, Gong Cha came into the scene. Correct us if we are wrong, but most Malaysians were introduced to the foam layer by Gong Cha, and we simply loved it. Mix it with the rest of the bubble milk tea, or simply eat it on its own, it is amazing. Let’s not forget about their chewy white pearls, which is in the same league as Koi’s super chewy golden bubbles. Gong Cha is number two on the list because their Gong Cha Signature Winter Melon Tea is super tasty. Indeed on the sweeter side, but we are not complaining. If we are drinking bubble milk tea, it is cheat day!

3. Venzytea

New to the scene, Venzy Tea has been booming! Located on the side of Automall, at Karpal Singh, the place is packed with bubble milk tea lovers when the sun goes down. Venzy Tea’s Brownx series is off the roof with aesthetics. Brown sugar is used to rimmed around the plastic cup! Urgh, dreams. They have the original Venzy Tea, Matcha Brownx, and Babyccino. Volcano Brown is in the same series but it is cheesy! If milk tea is a little heavy, you can always try out their refreshing original tea, comprising of Pu-Er Tea, Rose Tea, Osmanthus Tea, and Green Tea. No doubt that is a good spot for your friends, and family to hang around after dinner.

You already know what this is! Royaltea, a brand from China, is so good that they have more than 130 outlets in China and they are now taking over the world! The super brand is known for their cheese series. Nobody can ever say no to their sweet yet salty cheese that is generously poured above their specialty drinks. It is probably one of the best cheese bubble milk tea we have right here in Penang! Let’s also take a moment to talk about their creme brulee! It is the only topping that gives us an extra crunch right on top of it! We simply love the fact that they use glasses instead of plastic cups when we enjoy our bubble milk tea on the spot. Say yes to Earth!

A big brand from Taiwan, but you can only find a few here in Malaysia. The only place you can find Fresh Tea in Penang is on the mainland. So, if you happen to be there and you’re a bubble milk tea lover, you need to check this place out. Fresh Tea is well known for their Brown Sugar Fresh Milk, a concoction that is made famous by another bubble milk tea giant, The Alley. While we are still waiting for The Alley to open in Penang, you know where to head to if you want your brown sugar and fresh milk fixed! 7. BlackBall

Before bubble milk tea came into our world, it was first a bowl of finely shaved ice with wonderful toppings of grass jelly, red beans, pearls, taro balls, and everything else in between that we love. We are so happy that BlackBall serves bubble milk tea, too! We just love the fact that their plastic cups are separated into two so you will have the chance two of your favourite drinks when you’re feeling indecisive. If you are wondering, yes, they are in trend! They have everything from the brand new brown sugar series, and the super-hyped cream cheese series. Time to head to Black Ball!
