We’ve mentioned The 9ine in one of our articles before. The chef-patron Chef Jackie Wong is serious when it comes to culinary. Serving Modern European dishes with a local touch, expect ingredients such as salted fish and other local stuff. But wait, spring onion in mushroom soup? Is that even possible? We’re here to tell you they serve some of the best mushroom soup in Penang. The combination is perfect, with a strong hint of mushroom and a bit of truffle aftertaste. You get to taste fine-dine grade food at a fraction of price at The 9ine, so why not give it a try?

Okay you might think editor is out of her mind, but frankly speaking, those that have visited Harvest In might have tried their mushroom soup. When you order your mains, you get to pick whether to make it a set or not. If you do, then mushroom soup is part of the deal with a side of soft, fluffy bread and butter. It’s some really good mushroom soup right? It has what it takes to be a good bowl of mushroom soup. We could say it’s a fail-proof mushroom soup in Penang. Plus, with the price point, definitely worth it.

#5 Resto Pagar Buluh

We’re serious when we say the best mushroom soup in Penang. We’ve hunt all the way down to this super cool Malay restaurant. Why say cool? You dine with koi fish swimming underneath you. Of course there’s a glass between you and the fishy, but the experience is indescribable. Their mushroom soup is served in a bread instead of bowl. So the way of eating is to pull out the bread piece by piece while scooping in the mushroom soup.
