#1 Coffee & Waffles @ Wells Cafe

By by_f.i.a

With the light shining through a slightly transparent roof, allowing aromatic & laidback light passing through, the shots here are taken on a beautiful Sunday Morning looking back to reflect on! Sprouting as a humble start-up all the way from Taiwan Hsinchu, they win customers over their healthy and natural ingredients creating one of the real-est coffee imported from Colombia and Kenya offering fruitiness with a hint of a familiar acidity one needs for a 4th geared kick start! For caffeine free options, give their cocoa drink. As for waffles, we’d opt for the cherry blossom ice cream waffle encompassing a classic Liege waffle, possessing a dense texture and crisp edges.

#3 New Look @ NORM

By wendy.tsw

3 months later, they’re back with a bang now with a just different look depicting Penang’s authenticity through a refined coffeehouse charm. From the sleek look of white wall tiles and backsplashes, the very well-worn wooden decor, to the marbled coffeehouse tabletops, every corner is sprinkled with sparks of minimalism (Same old but better)  With an appealing and un-minimalistic menu, indulge in the sound coffee machine grinding some good’ol bens, their fluffy waffles, along with the sights playing out through the windows. Perfect spot to spend some lazy idle hours or time with intense thoughts soothe with flat white made with love!

#4 Vietnamese Cuisine @ Saigon House Cuisine

By gracie_jiea

If you haven’t tried the famous Pho (Beef noodle soup) or Banh mi (French influenced pork pátê sandwich), and Vietnamese drip coffee, call up all your friends to have a trip down to this restaurant for an authentic taste of Vietnam. Located in Sri Bahari Road, this beauty of a place plays with Thai basil, lime, bean sprouts, chili, and various herbs to create some real flavors of 80 Vietnamese specialties without having to fly across the country for it! Stuffed with juicy pork cube, the crispy Vietnamese Bread with Grill Pork (RM7) will be ready to mess your dining table with breadcrumbs and for the healthiest yet a delightful option, we’d opt for their Vermicelli With Fried Spring Roll. Fresh, Light & Hearty!

#6 Sugar Rush @ Plan C

Penang’s pastry isn’t just about the taste but also include flavors, textures, and dessert varieties and they are equally boujee as the scene of extravagant pastry style can get! And at Plan C, their evolution doesn’t seem to cease, and you can’t deny the fact that it is anything but boring. Indulge in a wide range of handcrafted celebration cakes, handmade gateau, exquisite tarts, mousse, macarons and one of their most stunning creations: jewel-like mirror glaze cakes. All look surreal: done with an impeccably smooth finish and would be hard to cut into- as you’d be ruining a real work of art. Trust us, their desserts are all uncontroversially pleasurable and will be eye-popping than ever.

#7 Juicery Twist @ Dear Dino Cafe

In the midst of fried, hearty comfort food, Rose little Dear Dino Cafe offering healthy options providing with the same comfort yet healthier resulting in a soothing experience just like the little dino. The aim is to break the system of assuming healthy choices are boring and providing you with a zest!  Since the establishment is still relatively new, the juice selection is small, but what’s on the menu is mighty. Grab a juice to go, or sit inside with their smoothie bowl to be surrounded by a sense of calm with interiors decorated in whites, neutrals, and pale wooden tones.

#8  Chinese Restaurant @ CornerKeng

By chrisyeoh92

With a child being born every 8 seconds into this world, Chinese Restaurants are mushrooming equally as fast and CornerKeng is proudly shining as one of the newest and hottest spots for you to chill with your friends while immersing in a good sip. Vibrant colors and chilly ambiance makes this a good option when you’re in a big group. There are a couple of cocktail choices and loads of different food options plus, importantly, a lot of space to spread out in. The highlight of this place is the menu that has a little of something for everyone – deep-fried snacks, desserts, noodles, soup, and dishes with white rice. A bowl of old cucumber spare ribs soup sets the right tone for the meal followed with salted fish chicken fried rice and steamed hor fun with fish fillet in homemade sauce.

#9 Chocolate Brownies @ Coffee Downstairs

By james_lohlegendary

With the classic available for the comfort souls, they have a range of hipster coffee on offer… including Sour Vide Coffee or Nitro Black Kombucha or perhaps, some peculiar combination that you could hardly imagine. If you’re one to travel places on a search for Brownies introducing the right bitterness, with a little crispy top and gooey-melted Chocolate sandwiching between, the contrast in texture highlighted the in-depth, multi-dimensional Chocolate flavor.

#10  赫 De’ H Cafe & Bakery

One’s gotta include some cafe from the other side of the island and to be fair this new cafe known as De’H Cafe & Bakery is a rising star among other new places to eat in Penang. “H” in their name stands for home, they seek to provide a homey, comfortable vibe. We thought their ambiance resembles strong Chinese traits, humble yet aesthetic. While there is plenty of mains to satisfy your hungry belly, they’re best with their bakes!  Featuring a whole lotta quality ingredients to bake, quality is certainly assured!
